Fiona Ager

My name is Fiona Ager and I am a qualified SENCO and Specialist Assessor based in Northamptonshire and serving surrounding counties. I provide a wide range of SEN standardised and recommended assessments to schools, ranging from assessing whole cohorts of students to gain baseline data, to targeted SEN assessments to inform planning and intervention to undertaking access arrangements assessments for examinations. I have over 17 years experience of working with people with SEN, as a result I offer SEN training on a variety of SEN topics. I am continually developing my professional skills as a SEN specialist in intervention and assessment, most recently being awarded a Masters in SEN and Inclusion.

Experience

  • 12 years highly successful teaching, training and management experience, working with children and young adults with SpLDs in mainstream schools, colleges and special educational settings
  • 6 years experience as provision leader in a special school
  • 17 years of SEN experience
  • Is a fully qualified Primary school teacher with mathematics specialism
  • Experience as a SENCO
  • Experience in conducting assessments for access arrangements in examinations, following Level 7 accreditation in psychometric testing, including at least 100 hours relating to individual specialist assessment, with continually updated, post-graduate, SASC accredited training
  • Experience in assisting SENCOs in assessing and applying for Access Arrangements
  • Specialist Practitioner (Autism and SEND) in Autism Outreach role
  • Thorough understanding of the current edition of the JCQ publication Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustment’ and the principles, procedures and accountabilities involved
  • Completely familiar with the Equality Act (2010) and assists SENCOs in identifying access arrangements which might assist a candidate

  • BA (Hons) Primary Education (with Maths Specialism)
  • MA (Hons) SEN and Inclusion
  • Fully Qualified SENCO
  • Fully Qualified Access Arrangements Assessor (psychometric testing)
